...But They Told Me You Were Dead!
For decades, Brooke Mayo believed her daughter, born of rape and placed for adoption, was dead. Then a letter arrived.
Brooke's baby was born one morning in 1942 and she was cherub-cheeked, just like her mother.
In those days, when a baby was being placed for adoption, they were supposed to just whisk the child away, but fortunately for this first time mother, a kindly nurse bent the rules and brought her newborn daughter into her room for a few minutes.
Brooke named her Delphine. Now, seventy-one years later, they have found each other again!

It's Difficult Learning that Your Father Is Also Your Grandfather!
Kristi Hofferber's parents were always open with her about the fact that she was adopted. In fact, Kristi's husband, a minister, was also adopted, as is their son. But when Kristi decided to look into her birth mother, she could never have been prepared to learn what she did, but sees God's plan working in all of her life, nonetheless!
Kristi's biological mother was 16 when she gave birth to her daughter, Kristi, and she had been a victim of incest and rape by her father! What a powerful testimony to God's faithfulness. Like Kristi said, "even in cases of rape and incest, each unborn child is created by God for a purpose. As my story reveals, God can take something bad and make it an opportunity to do something miraculous!"

Daughter Conceived in Rape is a “Diamond in the Rough”
Monica Kelsey always knew she was adopted, but it wasn’t until age 37 that she learned the circumstances of her conception. Monica’s birthmother was brutally raped and became pregnant at 17 years old. Even though abortion was illegal in 1972, she sought an abortion to get “her life back.” After being taken to a secretly located abortion facility, Monica’s birthmother had second thoughts because she knew the procedure was illegal.
Thank you Monica for being courageous enough to share your amazing story with the world!

Thank You, Rebecca Kiessling, for Saving A Life in Germany!
Rebecca Kiessling, herself conceived in rape, saved a life in Germany, without even knowing it! A woman there found Rebecca's story online and it resulted in a mom choosing life for her own child, who was also conceived in rape.
My hope and prayer is that all of these true stories will continue to save lives. Do you have a story? Do you know of someone conceived in rape who would share their story? If so, please leave a comment below and I will contact you.

My Birthfather Is A Rapist But That Doesn’t Define Me
Monica Kelsey is a firefighter and medic, who says she has "pretty much seen it all." Seeing these emergencies and catastrophes in the field brings emotions also. But the biggest emotional roller coaster of her life came when she heard that she was conceived during a despicable act. She never thought she would hear the words "conceived in rape" when she reconnected with my birthmother a few years ago.
But she does NOT let the circumstances surrounding her conception define her or limit her. Read Monica's powerful story, and say a prayer for her, won't you?

Two Real Life Stories of Two People Conceived via Rape!
There is a news story out of Elwood, Indiana about a 13-year-old who was pregnant by rape and due to give birth in a few weeks. A compassionate medic read the story and wondered how this took place only 70 miles from her home but didn’t make local news in Fort Wayne or national news. Nonetheless, as a child conceived in rape herself, she got involved and it is still making a positive difference in this young mother's life and the life of her little baby, Aiden.
Kelsey Monica writes about her journey with Ashley and how the pro-life community has stepped up to support her.
But there's MORE! Kelsey Monica herself was conceived via rape. And now she is busy saving lives as a medic and as a stalwart supporter of those whose lives are threatened by abortion!
